Hope. Lost?

He had been locked in for days. Surviving on only a small spring of water beside him. Darkness enveloped him. Only a small ray of light could be seen through the crack between the rocks. He slowly stood up. Hunger pangs attacked him with every step he took.

It was an old locked up mine shaft. All the exits were sealed shut with metal lids. In the nights, he had enough wood around to built a fire and warm himself up a little. Without food, he knew he wasn’t going to survive any longer as his supply of water was slowly running out. From a steady flow to a few drops a minute. He was out of his mind trying to find a way out of there.

It’s no use, I’ll die here, he thought to himself. He went through the contents of his backpack again. A knife, an empty bottle, a lighter, wallet and a pen. He toyed around with the knife. For the past few days, he had been trying to dig his way out. But, without the food supply, his progress slowed down as the days past. He sat down on the dusty floor, glancing at the picture in his wallet. How he missed hearing her voice. She would be worried sick by now.

I’ll get out of here, no matter what it takes, was his last thought before drifting off to sleep. When he woke up, it was already nighttime. He lit a fire to get warmth. How he wished he could have a piece of meat with him, to hear the sizzling sound of it as the fats ooze out of it. He had to get something to eat. He drank gulps of water to ease his hunger and went back to sleep.

He was getting frantic the next morning. There was no way in or out of this place. He had to get something to eat before his body collapsed. He had to stay strong for her. She was the only reason he was still alive. He glanced at the knife laying on the floor. The small ray of light caught the shiny surface of the stainless steel and beamed at him. He walked over and picked up the knife gently with both his hands. He held it like it was a fragile butterfly, so afraid that it might fall and break. Should I? he asked himself.

He tore of a small part of his clothes, tying it around the small area where the fingers and palm met. He held up his knife. He knew the pain. He knew the consequences. He dropped the knife. He couldn’t do it. He screamed with frustration. Maybe someone might hear him. Maybe not. He picked up the knife again. I need to eat something, he told himself.

“Is someone in there?” He heard someone shouting from the other side of the rocks. He shouted back. They told him to be patient, they would get help for him. I’m saved, he thought as he laid his head back against the rough surface of the wall. Blood oozing out of his hands. Not far away from his palm, laid a finger.

Serena and I were doing like all the “minor” jobs since we were not running at all. What our job was we were just supposed to keep making sure they took the food and drinks. Pin the numbers on the sweaty (not to mention stinky) backs. Cheer and scream like mad for the runners. Basically, the minor jobs larr. =)

Went to Giant with her after that. Lunch of KFC. Met Tan Ying after that with her  bunch of kiddies. We shopped at Living Cabin after that. Practically blew all our money away there. =)

Picture time!

Valentine Day Pictures!

After marching, the field was practically empty. So I asked them to do jumpshots with me, seeing that it’s our LAST year in the school di. =)

Happy V Day!

It was sitting in among all the rest. Waiting for its fate. A sharp pain shot through it. A smile in its heart. It entered a dark container placed by the pair of gentle hands. Careful as not to hurt it anymore. It smiled a gentle smile. It was surrounded by darkness. It was lifted up by another pair of hands. It was as gentle as the one before. Carefully removing the ugly parts of it and making it as pretty as it could be. A soft blanket was wrapped around it. It was surrounded by others but it remained the prettiest in the centre. It was admired by many. Placed in a vase in a not so gentle movement. At that moment, it realized that everything was over. It's beauty will soon fade as the first of it's petals slowly floated onto the table top.

Been so long since I had the access to a good connection and be able to blog like this. Since it's V day, I guess I should blog about something related to it. At a house party now, so tired after school. Adults playing in between again... don't they ever get bored?

Yesterday, helped out in Serena's mum's flower shop. Surrounded by all the flowers, the feeling is just so comforting. Watching guys walk in and out getting flowers for their loved ones. There are those who walks in with confidence and picks out the bouquet from the flower to the wrapping. Each to the liking of the girl. There are also those who walks in and asks for pre-packaged ones. Not to forget, the 99 roses one.

We also did a little delivery for those lucky girls who's faces lits up with a big smile as the flower arrives. All her friends staring at her in awe, her face glowing with happiness. It's enough to make you feel warm from knowing you have made someone's day a lot better.

SO Happy V Day guys! =)

Stupid Streamyx

So annoyed with the connection. So effed up lately. I can’t even go online for 1 hour before the line shuts down and I have to restart the freaking modem. Even if I restart it, I do not get back my connection half the time.

I am NOT the only one going through this connection problem now. Can’t believe Streamyx can be THIS SUCKY! Please larr, upgrade your service. Install more stations around so everyone can have good connections. We are paying for this.

PS. TO POST THIS FREAKING POST UP, I RECONNECTED MY CONNECTION FOUR EFFING TIMES!

Impromptu Outing

Was outside TTDI hall waiting for the humans to arrive for BOD meeting. Miss Su zen who told me at 10.14 am if I didn’t wake up I would be late and I turned out to be the earliest one.

Tan Ying randomly asked me to go out to watch Ink Heart. After arranging transport with them, got there at 2 PM, just in time for the movie. Definitely a movie to watch.

“And that sticky stuff.. what’s that? Ahh.. DUCT TAPE!”

Overall, the meal was expensive and the taste was bad. The best dish I had that night was the peanuts they served for starters. The salmon in the Lou Sang was not fresh. Con kao people’s money larr the restaurant. That’s all I can say.
