Thought of the week

I was walking in Petaling Street with my dad just now.
When we passed by a 7 eleven shop,
I saw rice everywhere spilled all over the floor.

At first I didn't give it a second thought,
I heard her crying out loud.
What I saw next really was heart breaking.
Her head was bleeding, blood trickling down her forehead.

My heart went out to her,
I wanted to go and help her but I couldn't
I didn't know why I stopped.

Maybe it was because my dad told me not to.
Maybe it was the person there saying she's crazy.
Maybe it was because I am afraid of blood.

Me and my dad stood there seeing if anyone helped her.
No, no one did.

Everyone was just like us.
Stop, stare and move on
hoping someone would be kind to help.

I did ask my dad why and how could we help her.
My dad said, the shop keeper said she was crazy,
You can't exactly load her into ur car and sent her to the hospital.

I asked again, why can't we contact the police to help?
My dad answered, do you think the police will?

That kind of just shut me up,
Through the whole day,
I couldn't stop thinking about the scene.
Wondering how was she now....

I never got to find out.
She wasn't there when we passed the shop again.

If you've seen that lady,
What would you have done?

I will try my best to help her if I was there, although she might be crazy, but how can we ignore her juz because she is crazy... she also dun want to be crazy rite. So, next time if u see the same thing happen again... the 1st thing you do is ask her how was it and call the ambulance straight away. Remember we are scout, we must help others at all time. But dun blaime urself too much. okay? It is good that u feel guilty... so make sure u dun let urself to do the same mistake again.

It won't be wise to just load her into the car, but you could've gone into 7 eleven, bought her a bandaid and stuck it on her, wiped dust off her, buy her a new packet of rice or something and then move on.

A.R.K. A Random act of Kindness ;)
